Congratulations to our three Laker FFA teams that qualified for national competition! They all competed this week at the FFA National Convention. The Ag Communications Team, which includes Henry Haag, Olivia Delmotte, Olivia Hooper, and Hesston Keim, received the Silver Award. The Poultry Evaluation Team, which includes Nate Radomski, Riley McIntosh, Lydia Rokicki, and Julia Shupe, received the Bronze Award. The Floriculture Team, which includes Sadie Steinman, Skylar Steinman, Eva Zagorski, and Ava Morell, also received the Bronze Award. Also, this was the first ever Laker FFA Floriculture Team to compete at the national level! So many great successes this week for our Laker FFA chapter! Plenty to be proud of!

Coming up in November, the Laker Theatre Company will present "The Christmas Schooner," a play about the hauling of Christmas trees in Michigan in 1886. Show dates and times are as follows:
Friday, Nov. 21 @ 6:30
Saturday, Nov. 22 @ 6:30
Sunday, Nov. 23 @ 3:30
Ticket Information : $10 per ticket, and free for Laker Students. There will be no pre-orders.
The show, which includes 30 students (including cast and crew) will feature live accompaniment!

During the parent-teacher conferences on Oct. 30, stop by the Used Book Sale from 1 to 6 p.m. at the high school. Books are just 50 cents a piece! Proceeds go to support the Laker Theatre Company. Warm up your insides before the football game Oct. 10 - come to the Soup and Chili Cookoff! It will be from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at the Legacy Center. The Homecoming King will be announced at the pep assembly Oct. 3. The Homecoming Queen will be announced during halftime of the varsity game vs. Sandusky Oct. 3.

The parade will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 3 in Pigeon. The Homecoming game will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 3.
