congrats FFA star finalists

Great news for Lakers!

The FFA had two students selected for on-site interviews based on their Supervised Agriculture Experiences. Based on their applications, record-keeping, and interviews, they have both been selected as State Star Finalists in their respective categories! The students are Mariam Shupe and Nate Radomski!

Mariam Shupe lives on a fifth-generation farm, but charted her own path with a beef herd she started in eighth grade. Starting with just two, she has since expanded her herd to 15. She provides all care and maintenance, as well as makes improvements to her facilities in order to maximize her production.

Nathan Radomski is the owner of Bald Skulls Taxidermy (a business many of our avid hunters already know and love). He specializes in European deer mounts with custom work in burnt, hydro-dipped, and custom plaques. Nate started his business because he loves to hunt and wants to preserve his own bucks. He found this work to be fulfilling and a way to provide a service to our community. Today, he is set to process over 200 deer for area hunters.

In January, these two students will complete a final round of interviews with Michigan Farm Bureau to present details about their projects. In March at the State FFA Convention, we will find out the results of those interviews.

Join us in congratulating Mariam and Nate!
